A calm evening in central Kansas allowed the folks at Quivira NWR to burn more of the invasive trees that they have removed. I came across the burn pile near dark. The sight and smell took me back to many a cool evenings at the lake around the campfire. 7D, ISO 400, f/11, 2.5 sec, partial crop

The smoke is getting in my eyes. I love the smell of a camp fire. Good entry.
