Palouse Barn + REPOST

Wheat and lentils (I think) surround this picturesque barn along with some uncultivated land and wildflowers (wild carrot) in the foreground.

Image capture in 2008, just going back through the archives and processed it today. Added the gradient to what was an otherwise blank whitish sky and darkened the hills on the horizon just a smidge.

D200, 70-200 @ 130 mm, tripod; f 22, 1/4, ISO 200.

Appreciate your comments. Thanks for looking.

Oh, dear... The sky ended up looking way too bold in this post from what it was on my monitor. I'll repost.

Great comp Catherine, I actually prefer the first version. It has a little more richness in color and contrast. I think it works pretty well without the sky as well. :toast:

The first version works much better for me. I prefer the richer colours.

Another vote for the first version. A lovely, peaceful scene. If the sky still bothers you in the first version, you could do a quick select on it and just play around with it until you get something you like.

This is one of my favorite places to photograph in the Northwest.
As others have said, I too prefer the first post. Well done, Catherine.
