Calla Lily

I loved all the curves on this flower. Tried to get it at an angle that would bring that out. Not sure if I like the DOF though.

D90, Micro 105mm, f/11, 1/60 sec., matrix metering, ISO 400, fill flash with a slight side light.

Pure elegance! Love the folds, curves and lines and the dof is fine. No nits here. :toast:

Yeah,

This certainly suits my tastes Walt. Beautiful lines, and the whites look perfect to me. I suppose some might prefer to see more texture in the flower but I like smoothness. I like the image very much.

DOF works for me too - adds depth. Beautiful lines.

Hi Walt :wavey: With the available light you had, You did very well. The color tones, And composition , with these flowing lines is very pleasing.

Yes, gorgeous curves. And I love the subtle glow of light at the base of the flower. Nice detail. Kind of wish the tip of the foreground petal was in focus along with the lower edge. But overall, sure do like this.

A good eye for the best angle, Walt. The depth of field is too wide for the very near camera. A perfect DOF is here possible only with two photos, as you know. A bit of more work in editing, but for a really beautiful photo.
Take care.

Walt: Callas are one of my favorite subjects. We have a ton of 'em in our garden but they're several weeks away from blooming. I like the angle here and how it does indeed bring out the contours. The DOF works for me. Nicely done.>=))>
