Hello,
This shot was taken yesterday afternoon in the same stream where I can find the dippers. Despite it is a city stream next to a heavy traffic road, always it reserves surprises.
This Porciglione (italian name) is a difficult bird to observe, not only because of his shyness, but because it moves stealthily in the thick vegetation near the banks.
I’m very happy about this capture, also if the bird isn’t fully visible and the light wasn't the best.

Thanks for viewing.
C&C are welcome. :wavey:

Hi Monica, I like this natural habitat shot even with the harsh lighting.

You got a good clearing through the vegitation for your shot and DOF is impressive.

Very nice habitat shot of a bird that I would imagine, from your description, be a difficult subject. Nice and sharp and I like the good catchlight in that red eye. The light may be a little harsh but overall a pleasing photo.

What a special bird...I'd love to see one. Give your conditions, you did very well! Sharon

Sweet! I'm a rail fanatic and its always great to see nice photos of rails, since so few exist! Sure the light was harsh, but any light is good light for such rarely photographed species I think! Congratz.

nice job catching this species relatively unobstructed, and you handled the light well. nice details too.

It's always tough getting relatively open shots of rails Monica. I especially like the light coming through the nostril and between the mandibles.
