I photographed this female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird in Lemming's Run Gardens in North Cape May Court House, NJ, September 15, 2009. This is a natural setting, with the birds completely free of any man-made structures. "Ruby" was photographed with a Canon 1D MkII, 300mm f/2.8 lens with a 1.4X extender(420mm), f/8 @ 1/40th using flash to freeze just some of the motion.

Hi Tom, I really like the flower and the bird feeding on it. The bg on the right kind of blends in with the bird quite a bit, maybe going to F5.6 would have blurred the bg more. I hope you will participate by commenting on others photos as well. You can learn just as much by analyzing others work as by the comments you receive from others. :toast:

Vibrant colors Tom! Keeping this a horizontal kept the eye on the bird. Nice job! I would also like to here what you say about the posts of others.
