Distortion 1 (B&W add)

This is one of my favorite local places to shoot. This morning gave me a different view of it, with a beautiful sunrise sans leaves and other growth. The smooth to churning always creates interesting patterns and today was no exception.

Shot w/ a D-60 and Nikkor 55-200mm lens at ISO-200, 1/250th, f-5.0 at 112mm. Cropped down just a tad from TLC, slight adjustments. Larger posted too, thank you for any C&C.

Love the contrast of smooth and churning water, and the reflection of trunks in the foreground. I might try a bw to really emphasize the shapes and textures.

This is a nice shot. The water action is fantastic. Great contrast. I would try a b/w version to emphasize the textures.

Thanks Paul & Bill, that contrast keeps me coming back here as it seems to change daily.

I'll give the B&W a try shortly!

Shot this in the a.m. and got a print order already! Why doesn't that happen like 20 times every day (or once?).

Really like the reflection and how it contrasts with the water motion. Well done.

This is nice, especially the BW version. It took me a minute to figure out the foreground.

Bill,

Good eye to see and capture this. I really like the juxtaposition between the smooth patterns of the reflection and the rough action in the water. The b&w works well, but I think I prefer the color version because the color and tones are separated, where as in the b&w, the tones are about the same throughout the scene.

Nice work with this one and congrats on the sale.
