Winter Reprieve II

This picture was taken 7 minutes after previously posted "Winter Reprieve" as i was trying to record as many images as possible before the sun finally dropped out of sight. I just turned and looked across the canal towards the west. I have about a dozen shots and really had a hard time deciding which one to post. Thanks once again for stopping by to take a look.

Your thoughts and comments are welcome as always

The colour contrasts in this really make the shot. Gorgeous light.

Beautiful colors Mark and very natural looking. The two birds add to the scene only ideally they would be mirrored (i.e. on the right side swimming to the BRC) to balance the composition better.

Wonderful colour and light. I think I'd prefer it without the birds but thats just a personal preference.

Lovely cool and warm tones intermingling here. Conveys a tranquil mood. Works well as a pano too (cropping some from the top, horizon about 1/3) - just a thought.

Thanks very much for the comments. It was a tough choice as I look over the images I had to choose from. The image I have without the birds was taken another couple of minutes later and is deeper in orange hues as well as fitting the "rule of thirds" a little closer. I may have to post that next just to show the comparison. I really am interested in the general feeling of how they all compare to each other. I do appreciate the comments.
