This image was taken in Old Paria off Us 89 in southern utah. There was a rapidly approaching storm making for interesting light. I was drawn to the warm colors and wanted to share them. I am new to photography having been at in for a year with no formal training. I would like comments and suggestions for improvements.
D700 70mm 1/60 at f18, retouched in lightroom 2.

Welcome to NPN. This is beautiful subject matter; my eyes could explore all the nooks and crannies of the undulating landscape for a long time. Looking forward to future posts.

Welcome to NPN! This is a very good first post. I like the composition and the dramatic sky. Like you said the light is very interesting. Very good capture!

Welcome to NPN Adam! I love this place, those rainbow hills have so much to offer. You were lucky to have some great stormy conditions on your visit.

Welcome to NPN and the ES&S Gallery. This is an excellent landscape image for your first post. And I think you're doing well for your first year in photography. You've come to a great place to pick up some tips and see some great examples.

I see you signed up with your email as your user name - first time I've seen that.... but perhaps you could give us a first name? Adam could be first and Adams could be last... :-) No biggie, but it's nice to get to know someone.

I really don't have any nits or suggestions. You've handled the exposure and processing quite well. The upper sky is dark, but I simply see it as the pending storm and the darkness certainly adds some drama to the scene.

Nicely captured. Welcome aboard. We look forward to your images and your participation. Feel free to jump in, ask questions and offer your own opinions.
