WC #424 - low light

Loons on Lac LeJeune, BC, last spring.

Low light, fog, and drizzling rain in this one, and well after sunset.
Still, I like the mood...

Many water drops on the lens cloned out, and a lot of CS work to recover some detail.
Thanks to Stan for this WC - this would normally not have been a photo I thought to try to recover without this "Challenge". It's a very good lesson I will take to heart - look at ALL possibilities with EVERY photo!

The centering of the white makes the photo. It emphasizes the gray ambiance of the photo.
The clam water with slight ripple from the bird's movement adds serenity.
As always, great stuff.

Very moody. Despite the low light there is excellent detail in the neck ring and back. I like it.

I'm glad you got a chance to post this photo. It's really nice! It's amazing what we can bring out of our RAW files when we really try.

Wonderful image and great mood! The second loon further into the fog adds a nice ghost-like quality.

Very nice, Sandy! An amazing amount of detail for such a dark shot and the sharpness is impressive for a handheld photo under those conditions! Good job of processing and an excellent choice for the challenge.
