I spent a few days last november in Yosemite. I must have past over this the first few times through the files. It's pretty simple, but keeps growing on me every time I look at it. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts. Larger version included as well. It's not much bigger, but saved at higher quality.

Thanks,
Chris

Simple, yes, but very nice. Sometimes "simple" shots can be the hardest to pull off sucessfullly, and you've done so quite nicely here. This is very nice. It seems a bit oversharpened though, although my eyes are quite tired at the moment so take that comment with a grain of salt.

I can't tell if it's oversharpened or JPEG compression, but something does look a little off with the JPEG. Either way the comp is great. I bet this will look amazing printed big. I really like the lines of the tree trunks and the slight color differences of the leaves. The tone of the grass at the bottom does seem to grab my attention away from the trees; I might consider burning that down a little.

This is a beautifully peaceful scene. I would love to set up camp right there. My only critique is the slightly distracting border.

This is a very well crafted photo Chris! The group of trees is perfectly placed in this composition, and the yellow leaves stand out nicely against the bg. I only have a nit regarding the light - it is a bit dull - maybe some "sweet" light on the trees would have been nice too.

Chris, I think what makes this shot is the tight intimate composition.

I would back off the sharpening and reduce the midtones. I'll bet it would make a beautiful print but its impact is somewhat lost at web rez even the larger version. Having to compress the quality wouldn't help.

Jpeg quality aside, this looks really nice. Thought it was on of Lon's, so I'd say its darn nice.

Chris,

You know I really like this one already. Funny Paul thought it was mine... I did too! Well, I looked through my files anyway cause I thought I had the same grouping of trees. But I don't.

But this is all yours Chris to be sure. I love the grouping of oaks starting their fall show; and I also like the scattered pines as well that describe El Cap Meadow so well.

I might agree on the sharpening, but it's very, very minor and much preferred over softness.

I didn't have much time the other day, and maybe I would need to play with it a bit, but maybe this could use some reduction in midtones - a tad maybe? And just like the sharpening, we're talking personal choice type tweaks. I think this is a beautiful Yosemite image as is. And another that should look great in print.

The soft light and color make this one a joy to spend time with. The type of image that makes one wish he were there.

Beautiful, intimate image Chris. Superb composition. Love the design of the tree trunks and branches, and the wonderful palette of color.

I'm really loving the larger one. It gets me involved with all the detail. Great job Chris.
