Roseate Spoonbill
by Charles Gangas
Another image from my recent trip to the Guana River WMA in Jacksonville last week. My new found photog friend from Greenland had discovered a small pond in a very dense wooded area off the main trails of the reservation where several of these spoonbills and a small contingent of wood storks were roosting in the trees above the water.
Thanks for taking a look, C&C appreciated.

The bright blue in the BG might be dampened a bit..

Nice pose, though I find myself wishing that the bird were facing towards the light rather than away from it so the bill would be more prominent. The blues in the background seem a bit oversaturated, I would tone those down if this were mine. I agree with Ron B. that in the larger version the bird looks a little soft. I like the light you have in the bird's eye and the graceful curve in the spoonbill's neck.
I like the side lighting, the perch, and the pink/rich-blue contrast. Nice eye contact too.
