Mojave Storm

I have been to Death Valley quite a few times but have never experienced a rainy day. The first day I arrived the sun never came out and it rained almost an inch, half the yearly average.

The red on these cactus caught my eye as I was driving so I decided to spend some time scouting for a shot. As I walked around I noticed these clouds moving through the valley and thought they made for an interesting shot. Let me know what you think.

Beautiful desert scene Martin. The foreground cacti is a great lead in to the scene. The clouds in the sky definately add some great mood.

This is the pre flower shot, I love these barrel cacti. The reds always grab the viewer Martin. The desert holly scatters out into the distance creating the lead in to the middle ground. Nice work on a cloudy day.

I think this is a very interesting shot, Martin, and I don't know why it hasn't received 3x as many comments. The contrast between the thriving cacti and the rocky environment is fascinating.
