Nice timing! A good capture of this fleeting moment. Everything looks great technically, though a tad more DOF might have brought a few interesting features into slightly sharper focus. (I could be wrong about that, as it's a bit hard to evaluate even in the larger photo.)

Nice timing to catch this moment in time. What bothers me is the unnatural placement of the chrysalis upon the flower.

Quite honesty, my first reaction to this photo was that something is very seriously wrong here.
The flower is absolutely pristine - even in a conservatory, it is not going to stay like this for more than a few days. The caterpillar will need far more days to develop in the chrysalis and without any attachment point to the flower that would survive blooming, I don't think it could have developed that way (this is the inside of the flower bud and it would have attached on the outside).
Sorry, but for me the unnatural appearance of the image trumphs the color and pristineness of the image.

hi Dan, the chrysalis was hanging from a branch above the bed of flowers when I first saw it. When I walked past the same spot a couple of hours later, I saw it has fallen on to this flower and I took a pic.

Such a well positioned landing spot makes this an even more amazing catch. Unfortunately the poor butterfly without the proper place to hang and dry its wings may never develop correctly.
