Black-shouldered Kite

Black-shouldered Kite taking-off, shot from riding elephant.
Sometimes you plan to shoot something else, but end up shooting something entirely different. In the morning, in Corbett, there was a courting pair of Tigers in the grassland. I took an elephant ride hoping to locate them, but they were not traceable, instead I got some interesting frames of Kites.
Thankyou so much for your kind attention & views!

Very nice, Jagdeep. It looks like the point of focus on this is on the twig in front of the Kite, but the sharpness is still acceptable and I'd love to have an image like this. :toast:

Love the action you captured in this shot Jagdeep. The light does look a little harsh on the talons and the bird looks a bit soft to me.

Just my type of BG, but a pity that the focus seemed to be on the plane where the right wing-tip is. The pose is great.

I like the action, the habitat, and the BG. The bird's position is nice. It is a bit soft and there are some hot areas on the feet, but I would love to have this image. I have tried to get our white tailed kites, and no go. Not an easy subject. Nice shot overall.

Amazing to me how you can get images like this riding on a elephant (that in itself would be an interesting picture!), nice light on the kite and the background really makes the bird stand out, some of the bird itself is a little soft but overall well done.

Great catch Jagdeep. Just at the moment of lift off. I've never seen one of these - thanks for sharing. Wonderful back ground.

Oh how I wish for you the focus was on that face. Super great capture and pose.
