Love the bokah, light through the wings, the pose and the eye sharpness all make this a wonderful image.

Very pretty: this fellow looks like he's directing an orchestra, Cheryl. In addition to the unusual pose, the lighting here really makes the image. We see the translucent wing feathers and the reflective droplets. They make up for shadow concealing detail so much that we don't notice it. I like the background too.

Neat image Cheryl. The backlighting works especially well with the bright water drops I think.

Not a nit?? Very cool. Came home from the drag races to find one of the local newly born sandhill cranes has died so my sadness was softened by all of your great comlpiments Thankyou. The baby must not have survived the last few days of heavy rain. I never got to get the pictures because of the rain so it was sad for me to get the news.

Love those wingtips. Sorry to nit ya, but if this were mine, I'd remove the larger halo spots just above the bill. The backlighting worked well for you. So sorry to hear about your crane. Nice capture. Sharon

neat shot Cheryl--as others said, the bright water drops create a really interesting effect with the backlighting. I don't think that you have any halo issues--I think it's just the fringe of light from the backlighting.
