Bluestem Ice

Bluestem is a prairie grass in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Very good for cattle grazing.

This is a winter photo of the seeds encased in ice after a severe storm which took down power lines for weeks in 2007.

D300, Nikkor 18-200 @ 65 mm, f/16, 1/1000 sec., ISO 400, 70% crop.

I don't like the background--gray sky.

Wow. Great catch. I agree the background could be better but still a nice photo.

The colours of the seeds and the surrounding ice is really interesting. A nice find and well captured :toast:

Nice shot, Larry. I wish the background was darker or had some detail in it to show off the ice better.

Sweet photo, very elegant! Bg is fine, but i think a little noise reduction would help. :toast:
