My Dad and I checked out the Knights Ferry region of California's central valley this past Sunday. The flowers aren't quite at peak level yet but they still put on nice show.

Please take a look at the large version as well

Nice to see them popping! Hope they pop here for us in AZ too. Love the vertical comp on this. Adding a bit more shadows might help with the harsh light.

Hey Mike,

I really like this image. Great early blooms! It looks like we both found some nice California poppies this Sunday in different parts of the state. :wavey:

hey, are you in for a home exchange?
Heavy snowfalls while I'm writing these lines here in Vienna.
Lovely scene here, that screams spring out loud!
(I love poppies, you know... )

Beautiful composition, the blanket of flowers lead the eyes nicely through the scene to the tree. I'm ready for Spring seeing this!.

Nice collection of color and variation of vegetation captured here. If there were more poppies in the LRC I might favor a slight swing of the camera to the right, but if not I could see why you settled on this composition. Very nice and this makes me look forward to the spring bloom.

Excellent. It's still all snow where I live in Arizona, so this gives me hope.

Beautiful shot Mike and the large is a must see! I love the various textures and complimentary colors. Nobody plants a garden like Mother Nature. So jealous...we are still getting snow
