Re-Post of picture posted two days ago. Posted larger file but due restrictions may not be large enough for detail which does excist when on my computer screen or is printed. The picture is also very clear. Camera was on tripod. I had to follow & shoot bird quickly.

Thanks for the prior post suggestions.

I like the image, don't really see much difference between the 2 postings. It is an unusal pose I believe. I would like to know your camera settings, gives a better idea of how you handled this situation. Thanks for posting, it is good to see a little different view on a GBH.

I think this shot has a lot of potential. It's an unusual place for a Great Blue, and a nice angle. You should be able to post a full 720 pixel shot; why don't you describe the technique you are using to prepare the photo for posting as we'll see if you can help.

The biggest problem I see with this shot is because of the dark water BG and the lack of good light on the heron they kind of merge together. The heron doesn't "pop" from the BG. I do like the spread wing pose and the positioning of the heron though.

I quite like the large image Ken. Nice wing position and comp and I really enjoy the setting. It's always good to post your equipment and techs (shutter speed, iso, f-stop) to help us give you more complete critiques and understand your technique. :toast:

I like this image action in both the bird and water!
