Charadrius semipalmatus

Taken at a county park near where I used to live in FL.

D200, handheld, laying in the sand, f6.3, 1/1000, ISO 200, 80-400mm VR at 400mm, natural light, 66% of the original image. I have provided the optional larger image, please use it to evaluate sharpness and details.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments & critiques. Thank you for looking.

Great candy corn beak and ultra low angle - the bent leg makes this unique

Nice gentle light and bg. The minor reflection and bits of froth add a real grace note to this composition. The large image shows fine detail, and an almost wistful look on the Plover's face. An elegant photograph!

Excellent detail and a nice low angle on this pretty little plover. Perfect exposure and I like the inclusion of the oof shells and the little bubbles. Sharon

Good old Florida, sand, birds and light! Flawless execution. I like the way the gray/blue sand merges with the sea and sky. :toast:

Great pose and the bird is so crisp. Also like the seamless transition of sand and sky.

Love the low angle here, Mia. The shallow DOF works really well here. Nice detail and pose too. Excellent shot as usual. :toast:

Another super shot Mia. I love these little plovers, they are one of my favorites when it comes to shorebirds. I love how the sand fades into the BG, the great exposure, the light, and the wonderfully big and bright eye.

Mia, Phil used elegant to describe this image and I think that suites very well. It is lovely in its simplicity. Well done!!

With no name to this I would have guessed it as one of yours.Beautiful pastel blues and the detail is very accurate.I like the pose on this one, the bent Knee /ankle does add.Exposure very well handled. You could make this even cleaner if you wanted but there realy is no need,I like that you are presenting them where possible as shot. :toast:

This is yet another example of how well you are able to use the available light so skillfully and combine that with a bird level view. It's really a very powerful combination, Mia. :toast:
