#421 Peppervine

This was taken in Florida in 2007 before I got seriously addicted to avian photography.

D200, handheld, 70-300mm VR at 300mm, f5.6, 1/200, ISO 200, cropped to 41% of original image.

For me this image is all about how the light plays on the vine. I also like how transparent the newly unfurled leaves are. Peppervine isn't in any way related to the invasive Brazilian Pepper.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments & critiques. Thank you for looking.

So where's the bird? Excellent focus, lovely, delicate colors and lighting and a background to die for. You should do more, when the birds don't keep you busy. The nice thing about plants is they don't fly away from you. You also have time to plan and the need to be reactive is not nearly as important. :toast:

Beautiful and delicate!! The colors and the light are wonderful. The curled bits of vine add a lot of interest as well.

Mia: Wonderful soft color palette for main subject and BG as well. Despite your photography being for the birds, this looks pretty darn good. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Lovely colors and light Mia. Great background too but the curled vine at center seems oddly misaligned from what looks to be its base, probably an optical illusion created by the translucent leaf.

Very delicate and pretty, Mia! I love the earthy color tones. I bet a little brighter and some extra contrast would really make it stand out like 3D.

The light and the color palette make the shot, Mia. A well-deserved EP.
