The sun was not up enough to see it on the Madison, Yellowstone. This bull was with cows, but they were not paying attention to him. Maybe next year!

ISO 100
SS 1/160

Thanks for looking at my picture and for any comment.

Nice shot and setting. It might be nice to have the elk a little to the left, so its not so centered, but that is minor.

However there is a weird blue cast across the whole image. Maybe the result of over-saturation or some other processing. I think it's fixable and I'd love to see a repost. The shot has promise and is worth working on.

Even though the bull is centered I like the composition with the reflection of the elk in the water and the diagonal lines of the shore helping the image. Perhaps a tighter shot of the bull would be better but it almost looks to be cropped quite a bit already. Really finding myself wanting to know more about how the image was taken and processed. The bull looks a bit soft and I was wondering if maybe ISO 200 or 400 might have been a better choice to get a shorter shutter speed. Also, like Jeff I note a very pronounced blue cast to the image and it looks really noisy for ISO 100. Perhaps it was quite under-exposed and pushed in post-processing?

Thanks for the comments, everyone. The picture was taken almost in the dark-that is why I think it came out with the blue cast. I have done no processing to the shot. It was cropped to the verticle shot you see here, so I have plenty of pixs left.

Really like the reflection of the rack in the water. Seems a little heavy on the cyan.

Like the bulls stately pose and his reflection in the water. Would consider cropping off left and bottom to move elk more to left of shot. Also definitely need to further process to remove blue cast.

The blue cast looks to me like it may come from having the white balance set to incandescent or tungsten lighting. Other than that I like the shot and especially like the nice reflection. I would position the elk more to the left of the frame to improve the comp a bit. IMO there is nothing in all the world (at least that I have experienced) like a crisp fall morning in Yellowstone.

I know this is pre-sunrise but the saturation of the blues seems unnaturally strong on my monitor. I really like the full reflection. You might wish to move the elk and reflection a little more out of center to add more compositional tension. The diagonals of the water edges are nice.

Thanks everyone for the comments. My camera does this thing with the color and the softness whenever low light exists. I am hoping that someone can give me a fix.
