Sintra. Portugal

At Sunset, granite peaks of Sintra mountain range are lit in red light, contrasting with the shadows of the rocks in the foreground, while the sky has the natural sunset gradient and the moon arises in the horizon.

Thanks for your thoughts about this capture.

Shot in March/2009
used Grad. Filter soft edge, tripod
exposure: 1/2s f/16.0 at 19.0mm iso100

This is very pleasing to view Helio. There's a nice bunch of elements and they're well placed in the frame. Lovely pastels on the horizon as well.

This is really nice. Those rocks make a nice lead-in.

The lichen covered boulders add a lot to this scene, nicely composed.

I really like the shapes in the fg and the blue tones of the lichen. My only nit is it seems like the fg is kind of the subject as the peak in the bg doesn't seem nearly interesting as the lichen rocks - still a very nice shot!

great smooth boulders in the fg really set the shot up well. the moon is sweet too, but it forced you to include lots of empty sky. I'm sure a version with less sky and no moon would work as well too.
super photo.

Real pretty Helio, I could look at this for hours. It's very peaceful, light is sublime and the comp is great.

I really like the foreground and the yellow/orange sky. Lots of stuff to look at here, but organized in a way that doesn't seem too busy.

I really like the pastel colors, the moon, and the very nice light on the hill. The foreground makes for a strong comp.

Beautiful sunset light, Helio. I like your composition, but I find the fg a little flat and lacking contrast. I love the pastel colors.
