Last Climbing Rose

Nikon D300,Nikkor 17-55 @55mm. F/2.8, 1/800, ISO 250.

These were my last climbing roses before the winter frost. This specimen is called "john cabot", and can endure harsh canadian winters. The leaves are a bit frayed but still retain a certain elegance. Comments appreciated.

Great image with a character and it feels a bit nostalgic. I also like the colors and tint on the warmer side. If I may suggest to crop it closer to the leaves to fill the frame, but keep the curve of the branch, and slightly turn clockwise.

Best,

Poor bedraggled roses and leaves, Albert but a beautiful job photographing them. I'd be tempted to call the image "Faded Elegance."
Nice job.

The cluster of flowers is wonderful, Albert! The light there is wonderful. Not so enamored with the background, though. Overall I like the concept.

Very beautiful image, Albert ! I love the moody sepia tones which predominate yet allow the other colours to come through. The flowers are superbly captured.

Albert:
This rose is definitely past its prime but not out. Nicely captured.

Elegance is just what comes to mind. I really like how the curving stem brings the eye to the flowers. Very nicely done!
