I cropped this picture to include just the head of the bird. I welcome comments on this effort

Very good exposure on the bird!
IMO the crop, with the motion in the water, is too tight on the left -no place for the bird to go.
I might add that I really like the water movement.

Great detail in this profile shot R. Melvin. Exposure looks good and I like the water drops. The water itself is nice too. I think adding a bit of room on the left would improve the comp.

Nice portrait of this cormorant, Melvin. Nice exposure. I think I would give it a bit more room on the left.

I'd like a touch more room on the left if you have it. To my eye the exposure looks a touch bright, especially for the highlights but that's a contrairian opinion from reading the other comments. I like the water droplets on the neck. :toast:

Melvin

I like the erect head and the long line of the neck of the bird, as others have stated I would like to see more room on the left, I think the comp would be stronger that way.

I think you could reduce the exposure just a small amount which might deepen the rich browns of the bird slightly.

The patterns in the water are gorgeous.
