Taken last week in Port Aransas, first time I have been able to get close enough to these guys to get some decent shots. Also fortunate to get Cinnamon Teal pair in the same location, will post next.

Bob:
Terrific view of the differences in plumage of male and female. Excellent details and colors. A lower angle would have helped, if it were possible. :toast:

excellent detail and colors. Nice seeing both together like this.

I always like to see both sexes well presented in the same image Bob. Details and exposure look good. Slightly tight all around for my tastes though, esp on the right.

Nice lighting and I love that you got the pair. It could use a bit more room for my taste, and a lower angle would have put this over the top. :toast:

I love the comp on this one with both male and female the larger version looks nice and sharp but it looks just a tad bright to me....however I'm traveling and on a laptop. The water looks good but maybe the birds need a little black not sure and again it could be my laptop screen.

Bob,

I'd love to get this close to a green-winged teal pair!

Two things would have put this over the top for me, the first being a lower angle, but I don't know if you had the opportunity to get down & dirty. The second would be more room around the birds, as presented the comp feels tight to me.

I love having both the male & female in this shot for comparison, the tones of the water and the slightly fluffed up feathers on the back of the male.

This image was taken from the boardwalk at the water treatment plant in Port Aransas. I would love to have gotten down a little lower, off the boardwalk, in the water...but that space was already taken by the resident 12' gator.
