The angled stems add so much to the composition. It is amazing to catch, in sharp focus, four butterflies, but the addition of the enviromental component helps me see the whole story. Well done! :toast:

Beautifully composed image! The contrast of the butterflies with the green is very impactful. I also like the pattern of the curving "leaves" on the plant. Well Done!

Eye-catching image with some nice detail. I assume this is the same plant as before. I'm curious where it was taken. I'm not familiar with the butterfly. It looks like a different species than the last one. Do you know what they are?

Thanks,

Charles

Nice capture. Perhaps just a bit more space on the other side of the BFs because they look just a tad cramped here. Nice job with the DOF.

hello Charles, I believe the butterflies shown in this pic are called "rice paper". I am afraid I can't recall the scientific name without checking my butterfly books.

Wikipedia has:

"Paper Kite or the Rice Paper butterfly (Idea leuconoe) is known especially for its presence in butterfly greenhouses and live butterfly expositions. The Paper Kite is of Southeast Asian origin."

I take it this was not shot in the wild then? Interesting butterfly. I didn't think I recognized it as being native to the U.S., but I wasn't sure.

Thank you,

Charles

This image is over the top Kayes! Your inclusion of the green stems on the right definately works for me.

Awesome shot! You could crop slightly from the right but no need to. What fortune to see all those butterflies on the same branch!

This would have been a cool shot even without the butterflies, but they sure do make the image pop!

hi Sandy, thanks! I was lucky to be there at the right time. I managed to take two shots and then three flew away.
