Finally got a head on landing to the nest this time with moss , not fish but hey, I'll take it. I love the little chicks expression. Had to lift the underside of the wings a bit again. I think I'm getting the exp. comp down now but not till after this shoot,.

Amazing photo! Really impressive. The whites on the head are a touch hot, and the wings are a little dark, but it's a high dynamic range and it's an action you may not see when the light is better. Congrats on this.

There is a slight halo around the eagle (mostly along the right side of the bird) and I'd run a noise reduction in the BG but those are real minor things.

A nice opportunity. I agree with Luke about the exposure issues.

And although you don't mention it,it also looks like a major branch has been cloned out from the left side of the image. There's also something wrong with the primaries on the wing where the missing branch might have gone.

I actually like the original more - frames the shot and makes it look like a tight squeeze

Nice action image. I actually prefer the original image without the limb cloned out. It doesn't clip much of the wing and frames the eagle nicely.

Repost is exceptional, young and an adult in flight together, got to like that! Another vote for the repost composition, which was to be the original - got it..

Outstanding capture, Cheryl. The original with the branch looks fine to me. This lighting situation is tough to deal with. I'll be interested to see how well you can use exp. comp. here. Myself, I think I'd try my fill flash or a different time of day. :toast:

Outstanding image. I like the one with the branch in myself as it brackets the image. Great job !!

Cheryl,

I definitely prefer the uncloned repost to the original, the original post had me scratching my head wondering about that section of the tree.

I like the landing pose, the spanish moss in the talons is interesting. It has been said that Eagles line the nests with the moss in FL and when it gets soiled, they remove it.

The underside of the wings is just a bit dark, looking forward to seeing the next image.

An amazing capture, Cheryl. Nits noted. I also strongly prefer the re-post, and am looking forward to you next photo.

I've seen Bald Eagle nets collapse from their own weight; you photo also helps explain why.

Great capture Cheryl. I definitely like the repost better. I do not think the limb hurts a thing. Your timing was perfect. I think I would try to selectively dodge a bit under the wings. Very cool image Cheryl.
