I wish I could get this close to an owl with dinner. Nice work and great experience.

wow--very cool to capture the owl with prey! I find the branches in the background around the bird fairly distracting and would probably try a little more sharpening if it was mine.

Nice to see the Hawk Owl from Europe, although they are essentially the exact same species as the Northern Hawk Owl we have here in Canada.
Looks like he was shaking that vole because the appears to be some softness from motion blur, but all in all great behavior captured

What I like about this shot is that the hawk owl has the prey off to it's side. Most owl and prey photos will show the owl sitting with the prey looking straight into the camera, not that that is bad, wish I had a shot like this.

Ron,
Having the prey out to the side shows it off very nicely.
The smaller version is only 97.9 kbs and I think the IQ shows that both images have been compressed too much for web presentation with a visible loss of detail. Try to compress only as much to fit just below the posting limits of 200 kb for the 720 pixel version and 500 kb for the larger version. Too much compression causes loss of detail and artifacts.

Nice capture with the yucky dinner! Image appears a bit bright to me, but it looks like the sun was quite high. Good job. Sharon

Great action shot. Agree with others about softness, can easily be fixed.
