Morning Light + REPOST

I've had more fun seeing what I could accomplish with my wonderful Costco bouquet of Spider Chrysanthemums.

It's fun getting reacquainted with the camera again too.

This morning I wanted to capture the light from the window behind the Chrysanthemum bouquet and I also wanted to experiment with Live View.

D700, 70-200mm lens + 500D Canon CU Diopter, tripod, ISO 100, 6.0 s, f/22, 155 mm.

Thanks for looking.

Awesome 3D effect Carol. The only minor nit for me is the white spaces at around 2 and 4 o'clock. :toast:

Great to see you back!
THis is beautiful - my only nit is that bright area on the right.
The mum glows, otherwise!

I would copy Sandy's comment - I like how the blossom almost glows and I'm a bit distracted by the bright area. Lovely colours, too!

I like the pov and dof as well as the comp. The brighter areas are a touch distracting as already stated. I do like how the rest of the light falls on the bloom.

Very cool shot Carol! I like the color and the 'in your face' feel of the bloom. I also wish that the bright areas on the right were not there.

That woke me up. Striking image Carol. I'd clone some dark into the bright spots on the right and then print this. Very fine comp.

Thank you all for taking the time to view the Spider Chrysanthemum and leave your comments.

Crawled out of unpacking this evening to work on the image.

You all were absolutely right; there sure were some bright and distracting spots. Hope you like the reworked image even better.

Carol, the light is really BEAUTIFUL and creates a tridimensional appearence. From the very close and clear foreground till the far and soft background one can feel a great depth. I love the photo.
Cheers.

Carol: The two small highlights at 10 and 3 o;clock do bug me a bit but your fixes worked pretty well. The larger bright area at 1 o'clock works for me. Really nice lighting control. >=))>
