Blue-Hooded Euphonia

Olympus E-3, 300mm x 2.0TC, tripod
f6.3, 1/200, ISO800

Taken Feb 10 at La Amistead International Park, Chiriqui, Panama. It's a cloud forest area, rich in tanagers and euphonias. Cropped to vertical, usual sharpening drill. I'm not sure if the upload to the 1200px version will upload with the limited bandwidth.

C & C, please.

What a beautiful bird in a great setting here Jim. It does look a touch soft and noisy, possibly from the crop and higher iso. :toast:

Jim,

I love the colors of the Euphonia and the eye contact you appear to be getting. This does look a touch soft & noisy in the larger version, I think you could work on those issues though.

I hope you are enjoying your trip!

I.ve never seen a more strongly coloured bird, must be difficult to hide from any predators. Very unusual and interesting perch. Graham

What a stunning bird Jim - really like the detail you've captured. I'd be tempted to do a bit of gardening on the twig coming out of the bird's back

cheers

Wonderful subject, pose and perch. Agree with others about softness/noise.

Stunning species. I like the background and perch tree, especially with the moss. It would have been nice if the bird wasn't lined up with the tree.
