Just a Peek

Gallery: FloraPosted February 14, 201054 views6 comments

Hi, Everyone. This is a photograph of one of the hundreds of flowers my neighbor grows. I like this type of shot as if one is peeking inside at it's beauty and I find I use this comp alot.
Manual Exposure, 1/60 sec on tripod, F 10, ISO 100, Canon 100mm Macro.
Large version added.
Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

John, I like your subject matter. What I find most disconcerting is that most of the image appears to be photographed in colors of a similar value. This means that the center of your flower which I assume is your subject does not stand out as much as it could.
This possibly could be corrected using channels in PS.

Regards,

Carol

John: Stay on the good side of that neighbor. I like this as posted and find the color palette very nice. My only compositional suggestions would be for a bit more of a camera rotation to the left and a touch more room on top. I like your DOF choice. Well done.>=))>

John,

Other than adding a touch of canvas at the top of this and rotating it as Bill suggested I like it very much as posted. Beautiful color and a striking image, especially in the large version.
