I have always found Goldfinches difficult to approach, this one and it's mates were quit workable, returning to the same thistle patch every 20 minutes or so.

Ken,
I think this is great! Maybe a tad oversharpened, but very minor.<br>I hope to work on some finches this week, and I would be thrilled with a shot like this. Nice work!

I love this -- one of the best goldfinch/thistle shots I've seen. Great pose, great perch!

Superb, Ken. The sharpness looks fine to me, as does everything else.

Nice composition and outrageous color.

It looks a bit oversharpened on my monitor as well - almost three dimensional like paint on canvas.

Beautiful! And very well done. One time where a square crop is very effective. Welcome aboard!!

Really beautiful image Ken, but for me a portrait format with a bit more of the stem would push it even further.
