I like the high key background and the feather details are excellent. I wish the perch didn't intrude so far into our view of the face but the eye is still nice and clear. With this image I like your choice of the brownish reddish frame. Works well with the birds coloration.

Looks like you are enjoying your new lens and getting the hang of it. This looks good except for the unfortunate branch in the way. I'm curious as to whether or not you are using a tripod. The image looks a little soft at the face. I like that you were able to get this guy in the open as they are so skittish . :wavey:

Cute little bird, Sharon. He looks like he's watching us too. It is a bit soft and, of course, it would be nice if that branch wasn't so high. However, it's still a pleasant image to view on a Winter day.

Hi Sharon. The branch in front is, I feel, too much of a distraction here. Good details otherwise though the eye area does seem a bit soft.

Cool pose, great old perch. I am getting tired of snow too.

Sharon,

I'm going to go against the grain and say I like how the perch crosses the wren's body because it almost points right to the bird's eye and pulls my eye there too.

I may have increased my ISO to 400 on this, gaining shutter speed by doing that so that I could use F8 or F9 to have a DOF that would have gotten the bird & perch all in focus & sharp.

I like the high key background, the wren's pose and the tilt of its head.

I like the high key BG Sharon. It really shows the wren to advantage. I only wish this wren had perched a little higher up.
