Red Deer in the Scottish Highlands in the Alvie area. Te deer have come down of the tops of the mountains because of the snow and freezing temperature. It gives us photographers a chance at getting quite close to them whilst they are feeding. I was on a two day trip looking for the red deer, crested tits and red squirrels

He offered a nice profile pose, with the antlers just offset enough to display all the tines! If you can find a way to slightly tone down the whites in the background, I think it would present a bit stronger.

Hi Ron,

I'm in full agreement with Luca that the smaller version doesn't do this image justice - very nice detail is shown on the larger image. I also agree with Lon that the bright background here doesn't add to the image and if there was a way to tone it down a little it mmight help. On my monitor the entire image (including the deer) looks just a tad bright - I'm wondering if you globally reduce the exposure just a bit (probably no more than 1/2 stop) it might make the image even more appealing? Just a thought...

Cheers...
