I'm not sure the name of this flower. Taken in Zion National Park, along the trail to Angel's Landing. Nikon d200, 55mm Macro lens. Thanks for looking.

Hello Rodney,
This is an evening primrose (Oenothera). You've done a fine job here have handling the whites.

Great detail on this beautiful flower. I'm curious what f-stop and shutter speed you used here.

Thanks for the comments. 1/50@f8, on a tripod. I played around with different f/stops until I got just the right amount of DOF that I wanted.

Thanks Kathy. The secret here is shooting in open shade.

Rodney: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post here. This is a well crafted image from capture to presentation. As others have noted your whites and DOF are spot on. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. >=))>

Very pretty Rodney. I like how recognizable the heart shapes are in the petals.

Lovely presentation. I really like how the wites and colors stand out from the dark bg.

Nice portrait of a beautiful flower. Well done! Before printing I would remove the tiny dust spots on the upper and middle left petals.
