Dawns red glow

I posted a photo of Mt. Whitney playing hide and seek in the mists of a dying thunderstorm Taken from Lone pine creek Campground, kinda the fare the well shots of the trip. That morning was one of the more intense aplenglows I've ever seen. Once again I think it had something to do with the clods in the a.sky. This was taken across the portal road just below the campground Olympus E-500 300 mm telephoto lens.

Paul,

You really captured some incredible light on Whitney! That must have been an inspirational experience. Talk about alpen glow!!! Very nice image indeed. :toast:

You certainly had a good trip to the Alabama Hills. This is some of the best
light that I've ever seen on Mt. Whitney.

Like the last one, I'd crop the sky again. Other than that minor nit-pick; holy freekin' alpen glow, Batman! That is some stunning light!

Oooh! Look at that alpen glow. Like the redness Paul!

How can you call it a farewell shot when you practically only live a few nature blocks away?

Impressive colors and well balanced composition. The shot looks quite grainy - especially in the big version.

Beautiful glow Paul, must have been a great experience in person. I would crop some sky off as others mentioned.

Nice work.

Wow! Incredible light makes for a really strong graphic. I love it. I think I would crop out 1/3 to 1/2 the sky though.

That's some pretty cool alpenglow, Paul and a really nice shot of Whitney. There does appear to be a bit of noise in the sky. Nicely done.

Great great light here Paul. Beautiful dawn light. I agree about the grain though. Due to high ISO?
Cheers.
