The Gift

The alarm goes off. But the bed is warm. O.k., I'll go look outside. Fog. Can hardly see across the street. The bed becons. O.k., I'll look online. No real info to help me there. Maybe I'll just go back to bed. Nagging thought. Maybe something good could happen. It won't if I go back to bed. But where to go. Flat Irons might be worthwile if they have fog moving across them. But they're 50 miles away. Look, this is all you think about all week long! Just go! O.k.

Sometimes an effort is all that is required to receive the gifts that are waiting for us. Thank you, Lord.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

At least half of nature photography is just showing up. The light will find you if you make yourself available. Gorgeous scene. My preference would be to crop a bit of the brown from the bottom.

Really nice light! The subtle misty atmosphere is great and the moon really helps balance out the heavy right side, well done. I'm with Tony, I could go for a little less brown up front, but cropping it may make it too top heavy... I would consider a slight pano crop losing a little off the top and bottom, but that's just me. Regardless, it's beautiful as-is... well done, Morris.

Wow Morris, great capture. The light is awesome and was worth the effort from my POV. The lines in the Flatirons are a good study. Amen on the thanks.

Beautiful image Morris.
It's so easy not to get out of bed. Why is that ?
I'm glad you made the effort. It's almost always so rewarding when one does.
Nice work!

This one is by far my favorite of yours from the morning (when compared to the great selection on RMNP too). Awesome decision to go out there and shoot this!

Glad you got out of that bed, so we could see a scene like this. Love the colors and that moon adds a nice touch. I would suggest to crop that brown stuff from the foreground, and the image should be more balanced then.

Thanks so much to all who have commented so far! I do appreciate your valuable time. Looks like it could use a crop off of the bottom maybe from some comments.
Dan, yes, it is the Flatirons in Boulder. E-mail me when you are out here, and we'll go shooting together!

Absolutely stunning image Morris. The color in the sky, the touch of light on the mountains and the moon all make this a phenomenal image. A few have suggested a crop and I would agree with a crop on the bottom and a bit off the left hand side to retain the proportions and focus the viewers attention on the moon, sky/clouds, and those phenomenal mountains and light. Man, I would definitely say the Lord blessed you this morning with a wonderful gift.

"Just go!" is absolutely right. I've never regretted going out even if I don't end up taking a single photo and I always regret it if I don't go. I go because I love being out there. The photography is a bonus!

I really like the pinks and blues here Morris. And the position of the moon really adds to the image. Nice work!
