WC#417-Snowy Lines

It snowed here today, and I talked my boss into letting me have the afternoon off for photography  I had a lot of fun! I saw a red fox, and almost was killed by an angry mob of quacking ducks and honking geese  While watching some geese splash down gracefully in the limited open water of Lake Shawnee, I saw these cool lines of dead reeds/grasses and the snow-covered shore. Voila! I had another entry for this week's challenge. Since I'm on a B/W kick (and the skies have been gloomy), converted to B/W. Oh, and you might see some white streaks in the URC in those trees - that's from the snow that was still coming down.

Canon Rebel XTI, tripod
10-22 mm lens
ISO 100, F11 +1/3 @ 1/100

Nice winter scene. Black and white was a great choice and works well here. What is your secret for getting your boss to let you off work?

nice lines, Angela, the snow and reeds lead left while the dark tree brings the eye back into the photo

Very nice peaceful image. I like the angle, the composition and the B&W choice. :toast:

I especially like the pattern of reeds stick through the ice.
BW is fun. I posted a BW wagon wheel on CSNP several weeks ago. Make one a little more aware of composition and not relying too much on color.

Nice shot..I wonder what kind of shot could have been taken if you could have been out where the reeds were...and singled in on the tree and reed lines and no far shore...Ohhh the possabilities...You'll have to ask for next friday off....lol
