What a great head-on image of this own. You may be able to bring the brightness of the shadowed eye up a little. And maybe a little sharpening.

I really like the unusual wing position at this angle Hal, in particular the position and shape of the secondaries. I know nothing about this "famous" owl and I would have assumed this owl to have been baited, esp at 300mm, but after your post in Bird Photography I doubt that it was. If so, quite the accomplishment!

I'd kill (not literally!) for a Snowy shot like this. . .I love the looks of the wings, the talons and the eye that is lit up. Had it recently made an attempt at a kill?

I like the pose, the snow, the head on look and the bits of grass in the background.
I find myself wishing I could see the entire shadow of the bird, perhaps a crop that has that in it would be very interesting. And I am not sure the dark line of the horizon at the top adds to the image, I might crop to remove that. Those of course are simply my personal preferences.
Love those dangling talons.

Love the head on pose and the wing position here Hal, I agree with Mia about taking the dark strip from the top and I think it could use a touch more sharpening particularly around the face.

Excellent capture, Hal! The wing position is great and I really like the background grasses. I think that cropping off the dark strip up top would further add to this awesome shot... nice one

Wonderful wing position and flight picture, way to go, I might be inclined to also crop off the top dark area of the image but minor, well done.
