Trapped

The recent snow melt and heavy rains followed by a deep cold spell have caused this lake to buckle up with ice in certain spots, and overflow it's normal depth by up to 18 feet.
Just shot this the other day as I liked the contrast between the smooth ice and snow, with the bumps in certain spots. Here a tree is enclosed by the ice surrounding it. Shot at ISO-80, 1/1000th sec. at f-5.6 at mid afternoon. Thanks for looking and any C&C!

This is definitely an interesting shot. The composition works as is and I think an even tighter composition could accentuate the subject matter even more. Overall, a very nice find. The only downside is the mid afternoon light is a bit harsh. I hope this helps. Thanks for sharing. Michael
This is great. Very fascinating. I think I would have liked it better if you had panned up a bit to give the BG tree a little more room and possibly swinging the camera to the right a bit to move it into the frame more. It would have had a better story appeal, in my opinion.
