D70 75-300mm F8 1/160 ISO 200

Came across this red fox in the fall of the year along the shore of the 2nd Connecticutt Lake in Northern NH. Trailed him for a little while until he came across the remains of a bluejay. Got off several nice shots but liked this pose the best.

Very sharp image of the fox. Also, I like the amount of the environment you have included, gives a good idea of where the fox was scavenging.

Beautiful fox! What I particularly like about the included habitat are those red leaves, they compliment the fur color so well. The (poor) bluejay definitely adds another element of interest. Nice image overall, well done. :toast:

Great looking back pose and wonderful tail !
I find sharpening bit agressive.

Hi Bob,

I quite like this shot. Overall composition (especially positioning of the fox in the frame), inclusion of the rocks/habitat, and those orange/red leaves all work well for me here. Two very minor things on my "wish list" for this image - I think a very small touch of selective brightening on the fox (mainly on the tail) might add a little to the image and, if possible, I think including the full rock on the left (if it's in the original) would help complete the composition. But these are really small things and overall I quite like this as posted.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...
