An old image from my archives and older equipment but I saw it the other day and did some work on it. I'm pleased with having a flying spoonbill and this I was happy with.

Cheryl, what beautiful colors in this image and terrific flight position. I love the show of motion in the wings, while you attained sharpness elsewhere in the spoonbill. Proof that the photographer makes the photo - not the equipment!

Really nice Cheryl , I like the motion blur from the slowish shutter speed and the head and feet look nice and sharp. :toast:

Cheryl, this is a great spoonbill image. I also like the wing blur and the nice flying pose. The BG is nice too. One thing you might look at is the brightness of the whites on the top of the neck where the back starts. They look a bit bright to me. Other than that, very nice.

awesome shot - I was hoping for something like this last week while in Florida, but couldn't come up with any. Spoonbills were a little hard to find last week - at least for a guy that doesn't know all the hot spots - saw some at a golf course near Fort DeSoto and at Weedon Park- but too far to get anything decent. I would have been really happy with this shot.

Good one Cheryl! What would we do without the archives to get us through the winter?

You're making me jealous. For this image where everything else is sharp, the blur of the wings accentuates movement. Lovely colors.

Thanks everyone.JAY, I'm not surprised you couldn't find them as they seem to be more and more scarse around here unfortunately. I happened on this group on my way to work one day so I returned the next morning to happily see them there again but gone the next day.

Very nice. The amount of wing blur is excellent here and conveys the motion well.

The motion blur is quite pleasing and the colors are very nice. I'd like to see this a little more pano and less square.

Love the way the wings almost look transparent due to the movement. Lovely colors of the bird and water. Very good details.

Cheryl,

I like the sense of motion I get while viewing the blur of the wings. I love the trailing feet!
