Mating Fox's

This is an area I have been watching for some time, I had seen fox's there as individuals on numerous occasions, always to far away and have never been able to get close to them to get any decent picture.

I went to the site again on Monday this week looking for brown hares, they start to box around this time of year. I got into the hedgerow and started to scan the field and I couldn't believe what I saw. Two fox's locked together mating. This usully takes place under cover of darkness, so its quite an unusual site.

They weren't particularly close but I managed to get some good record shots.

I have never seen this before or indeed pictures of it. I had seen it on movies on TV but this was live in front of my eye's.

"get a life" you might say, but I'm pleased with being able to witness it.

Hi Ron, what an interesting scene! As you say, it is a little far off but really interesting behaviour and well worth the effort

What a great opportunity! As you said, this is great record of rarely seen behavior. Congrats on your find! :toast:

This is a very pleasing image to view Ron. The almost symmetrical poses of the foxes, the neutral environment and the lovely natural colors make a nice scene. I might consider to crop some off the bottom to get the foxes out of the centre.
