Dipper

Dipper feeding on the River Tweed at Melrose, Scottish Borders, UK. It was trying to turn the stone over which was obviously to big for it, but it kept trying.

Th light wasn't great hence the f3.5

Very well captured behavioral shot, Ron. The various shades of brown in this image are really great and so is the detail. The rock turning effort adds plenty of interest too. My first reaction was that the bird blends too well with the background. However, after seeing the large version and understanding the action, I concluded that this image is very fine as is. :toast:

Neat action Ron, I like the open bill and the way the wings are positioned.

What a great behavioral shot - I can't believe it thinks it can move that big rock! Nice and sharp and the shallow DOF didn't hurt you at all.

Neat behavior shot Ron. Well done being there at the right time. I've watched the American Dippers do this sort of thing but never with a rock this big.

There had to be something really succulent under the large stone - well done capturing this!

Great behavior image, Ron. Excellent eye contact and good detail, particularly for the conditions. :toast:
