Been very busy photographing so sorry for not being around lately.

Doing foxes and deer a lot. Well....I try.

After a long wait this fox showed up. I love foxes but I think they are at their best in snow.

Beautiful low angle and the look in the eyes is fantastic. I would try brightening it up a bit - so the snow is more white than blue/grey. I'm guessing you took this from a photoblind?

Edwin, If I could find these guys, I would be doing the same thing, just shooting, shooting and shooting. I think this is a REAL winner of a shot! I love the eye contact, the color, comp, bg...well, basically everything. I think this is over the top! I would normally agree with Luke about the light, but on this one, I actually like the darkness of this (obviously taken in the shadows) and I feel it ads to this shot. Almost as if he is sneeking up in the shadows, ready to pounce.

Pretty cool shot. It's not too dark for my tastes given the lighter background and the great detail you still got in the fox's fur. Great pose and eye contact too.

My only (minor) issue is that it's slightly off-center, horizontally. Since this is full frame, I guess that would mean cropping from the left a bit (and since that would leave a very "skinny" image, I might then crop from the bottom as well).

I love this shot! For me, the low angle, intensity of the stare and perfectly head on pose make it just awesome... Well done

The narrowed eyes and the splash of snow are superb. Wonderful details too.

This is a magnificent image Edwin. That super low angle (or should I call it 'mouse perspective'?) makes this even more powerful. I do also feel the fox could use some selective brightening, but just a tad. Great work. :toast:

Hi Edwin,

A very interesting and unique perspective - great intensity conveyed by the image. Knowing you I'm sure you carefully considered the brightness issue and intentionally chose to go down the slightly darker and moodier road. My initial knee jerk reaction (possibly influenced by the thumbnail) is that I'd like to see just a tad more brightness (no more than 1/3 of a stop) in the reddish portions of the snout and cheeks, but I honestly would have to see this adjustment side-by-side with the original to compare (before I would say one version is better than the other). Otherwise everything else about the technical and creative aspects of the image work very well for me and they combine to produce a very compelling image...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

I think the intense head on stare is very effective from this angle. I like the image as presented. It has a very dramatic look with the toning.

Love the intense look!
Not sure if I'd try brightening it up a bit - the darkness adds a "stealth" flavor.
Congrats on the EP!

This is WOW factor material! Stunning expression and great detail! I, too, would like to see it brightened a tad, not for the snow but for the face. But so beautiful anyway. Congrats on your WP!!!
