I ran across this coyote on an early morning prowl a few days ago. The photo was taken on the Ridgefield Nat'l Wildlife Refuge, WA and for me is a reminder of the hard life some animals have on a daily basis as they hunt down their next meal. I love the OOF BG and colors.

I could take or leave the mottled green look of the bg, but i love the look you got from the coyote! :toast:

I don't think that coyote is happy to see you. I always love their intense yellow eyes which you have captured very well. Nice details in the fur. I might crop a bit from the bottom.

I like the OOF grasses in the foreground and the clean background. Nice comp as well.

Very nice BG and colors indeed Craig! Apart from that the low angle as well as the head turn of the coyote are great. The front legs are also in a perfect position, but if I had to come up with one minor nit it is that I would have prefered some separation between the hind legs as well.

Good shot of a coyote that does not want you there! Wish that I had shot this one. I agree with Sally about taking some off the bottom. Thanks for sharing,

Hi Craig,

Nice detail and your techs look spot on. The background doesn't bother me a bit (I quite like it) but my personal preference would be for more of the foreground to be in focus (and it does look to me like stopping down somewhat was likely an option here, but you may have been risking some motion blur in the coyote). Note that this "nit" is purely an issue of personal preference and defintely not a "right-wrong" thing!

Cheers....thanks for sharing this...
