Charles,
I'm not sure about this one. I like the grass but I'm not sure about the twig. I guess I might consider cloning out the thread in the viewer's lower right corner. I like the bg and you've got good subject to ground separation. I think it's mostly the composition I'm having trouble with. It's too unconventional for my tastes.

I think the "thread" of grass holds the larger stalk in the frame. To me it always looked like a fencing sword resting against the wall in the corner of a stage.
But as I see it this is a very male oriented image. I just get a very sexual interpretation. I don't know where the softness ends and the noise begins. There's something in back of that curtain that I want to see.
The twig that it's resting upon? Hm. I think there's just something innately interesting about intereactions in nature. Even if it's just one branch leaning against another. Maybe because of bridge building for micro-organisms.

Charles: My first impressions echoed Pat but I have reconsidered some after reading your follow up. Still, the elements don't work together all that well for me but I'm not sure what I would suggest to improve things. I do like the light and DOF/POF choice. >=))>
