Nikon D300, Nikkor 17-55 2.8 @40mm. F/14, 1/250, ISO 200.

The ice on the small birch trees has taken its toll, I hope they will straighten up by spring. I find the curved lines interesting. Comments appreciated.

I like it, The curving trees make for an interesting composition, I wouldn't count on them straightening up by Spring, though. :frown:

Chilly! Great shot, Albert, and nice to see a post from you. This certainly tells the story of the harsh winter season in a more poetic way.

A very nice artistic touch. The comp flows well and the snow helps accent the prominent features.
Nice job Albert

I like the comp here Albert...... but a sad scene for me since I love birch trees and know how vunerable they are to snow and ice....... especially the small ones. Excellent B&W BTW.

Love the curves Albert. Your composition really does give one a sense of the weight and strain that these trees are experiencing. Well done.

The arching branches bending under the weight of the frost is what I really like about this. And the fact that they are dragging in the snow. The upper right area isn't as appealing IMO. Maybe darkening the background just a little?

I too love the arches, good eye. The snow covered branches are beautiful too. I also noticed what Chris commented on, and think his idea is a good one.

Albert,

Definitely tells a story of stress that the trees take during the winter - yet they still give and bend with grace. I like the receding pattern here of the birches in the heavy burden of winter.
