This image was made at the Celery Fields in Sarasota, Fla. This spot can be a great spot for viewing birds. Just down the road is a lion and tiger rehabilitation center. It can be a little unnerving to hear a lion roaring in the distance while you are tramping through the brush. It gives Southwest Florida an African feel!

Greg,

I agree the Celery Fields in Sarasota can be a great place for viewing sandhills in winter and it IS very unnerving to hear the lions roaring just after the sun rise. Had I not known about the lions from up north wintering there I might have packed my gear away and got out of there the first time I heard them!

It is difficult to assess sharpness and detail at the 640 pixel size image you have posted here so I will skip that. I like the flight pose. If you have more space on the original image a touch more space on the right sode of the frame would give this image more impact.

Good flight pose Greg. I quite like the DOF in this image. The BG clearly gives a sense a the habitat without being distracting to the subject. I only wish for some more room for the bird to fly into.
PS don't you want to join my Photo Safari and shoot where free ranging lions roam...
