Amaryllis

Sandy, you've inspired me with your fine amaryllis post, so I thought I'd post an old one I have. I bought an amaryllis bulb for one of my co-workers for Christmas a couple of years ago. She kept it on her desk, and it had gorgeous blooms. Ironically, the one I bought for myself that I kept at home didn't bloom at all, so I photographed hers. The background is the black overhang cabinet that we have over our desks.

Love the muted colors Kathy and the composition. I think I might light the inside a little brighter and the upper left corner a little darker but I'm not sure about that. I like the image as posted. Nice sharp detail on the anthers.

Kathy: One of my favorite varieties of amaryllis and you've captured it wonderfully. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

Such a beautiful flower with a huge dof. A square crop might work on this, eliminating the green area and portion of the oof petal on the left and some of the dark area on the right. Can't wait to see more. :toast:

Very pretty Kathy, Nice color and detail.
Great quote under your name, one of the best I've read so far. It pretty much sums up how I feel when I walk in the woods with camera in hand.
